AccorHotels Reviews
The French hotel site is rich with its company background or brief history, long roots that will trace back to when it all started and how did it sprout from there. To simplify things, AccorHotels’s early beginnings happened when Paul Dubrule and Gérard Pélisson established SIEH (Société d’investissement et d’exploitation hôteliers) hotel group in 1967. They had launched several brands and accommodation services in time, but what marked the birth of AccorHotels is in 1990; they included Accor Casinos, from there the shareholders of Accor approved the demerger of its hotel and voucher business.

In June 2015, Accor was rebranded to AccorHotels with a new company slogan “Feel Welcome.” Recently, they just announced to purchase FRHI Hotels & Resorts for US $2.9 billion cash. The hotel site loyalty program, Le Club was even recognized and awarded by Freddie Awards 2015 as “Best promotion campaign”.
As rich as their origin and ownership, the leadership ran through 4 heads within 7 years. Since 2013, their Chairman and Chief Executive Officer is Mr. Sebastien Bazin. He once said:
“We’re on the move. For sure, we are. I am a believer that whatever is happening in the world for the last five years is a huge opportunity and not a threat, if you play it right. Some of us are going to play it right, and some of us is going to be miserably failing.”
Why AccorHotels?
As mentioned above, the hotel site is not alone world renowned for its rich background and services. The site alone has several features that accommodate traveler’s needs with searching for the best hotel by destination, theme, brand or preferences. AccorHotels also includes car rental services and special weekend offers for a traveler or even with their family. To give you a detailed information of their loyalty program Le Club, click here.
Why NOT AccorHotels?
However, AccorHotels reviews tell us a different story. Based on Tripadvisor AccorHotels reviews, the customer service of the hotel site is horrible. Some customers even complained in particular to their Customer Care. The reviewer booked a reservation in Hotel IBIS but had to cancel his booking for personal reasons. He called the customer care and spent 5 hours talking over the phone and still ended up disappointed. What’s worse? No consideration or refund was processed.
Another reviewer said:
“The booking as their online system also FAILS, do we or don’t we have a break? Disgraceful service or lack of and a don’t really give a damn because we’ll get paid our miniscule wage from our employees is the way forward for Accor?” To see the whole story, click here.
